Help Restore a Downtown Landmark While Supporting an Eagle Scout Project

One of those people is David Vielbaum Jr., a local Eagle Scout candidate who has chosen to restore the historic Courthouse Square Park colonnade as his Eagle Scout service project.

The colonnade has long served as a recognizable feature of Courthouse Square Park, providing character and helping define one of Downtown Albemarle's most cherished gathering places. From community events and festivals to everyday visits downtown, it has been part of countless memories shared by residents and visitors alike.

As part of his journey toward earning the rank of Eagle Scout, David is leading the effort to restore this important landmark. An Eagle Scout service project is designed to demonstrate leadership while providing a lasting benefit to the community.
