We're excited to announce that Louisa Jane Hartsell has joined Albemarle Downtown as our new Administrative & Events Coordinator!

Born and raised on Main Street in Albemarle, where she still lives today, Louisa Jane has long been connected to the heart of downtown and its future. She brings 20+ years of experience in event planning, community relations, and business leadership. She’s an owner of Hartsell Funeral Homes, and serves as administrative manager for Proximity 2 Humanity, a nonprofit helping communities in crisis recover and thrive globally and locally. Louisa Jane is a dedicated community leader and strongly commitment to civic involvement — she is a member of the Albemarle Rotary Club, founder and director of Rotary’s Race to Remember 5K for Alzheimer’s, is a board member for both the Stanly Chamber and the Cabarrus Arts Council, and serves on the Albemarle Walk of Fame and Walk to End Alzheimer’s committees, as well as numerous other committees and volunteer activities.
Louisa Jane has an adventurous spirit, commitment to wellness, and love for a challenge — which is evident by her love of teaching Jazzercise, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, yoga, competing in Spartan obstacle races, and her passion for travel, which has taken her around the globe including running the Great Wall of China Marathon and climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in support of Rotary International’s End Polio Campaign. She is the proud mommy to Libby and Furgie, her Havanese puppies, and shares life’s adventures with her fiancé, RD Hulen.
Louisa Jane will be taking on tasks related to events, marketing, the Albemarle Downtown Farmers Market, and more. She is excited to bring her energy, creativity, and deep love of her hometown to the Albemarle Downtown team and helping to support the continued growth and vitality of downtown Albemarle.
Welcome, Louisa Jane!
