Liberty Gardens
Originally constructed as a 9/11 memorial, Liberty Gardens serves as a place to honor and remember those who have served our city, county, state and country.
The entrance to the Liberty Gardens, located at West Main and Depot Street, is specifically designated as a Public Plaza. The space is filled with engraved brick pavers, seating, and lighting purchased by the general public. These items memorialize those who have served in military, law enforcement, and fire and EMS personnel.
Custom engraved bricks are still available for those who would like to honor a loved one who has served. There are four (4) sections for bricks: Veterans, Police, Fire/EMS, and General Public. Please indicate on the order form which section the brick needs to be placed. **Note – There are specific departments for Fire (Albemarle, Endy, & New London.) If your specific department is not listed, the brick will go in the general Fire/EMS section. All efforts to place the bricks in specific areas will be made if noted on the form.

Liberty Gardens has also been the setting for special events, from patriotic rallies to 5K finish lines. The space is available for rental; please contact the ADDC office at 704-984-9415 for rates and available dates.
