About the ADDC
ADDC was established in August of 1989 and has accomplished many tasks over its 30 years in operation. Our purpose is to aid and promote the redevelopment, improvement, beautification, and revitalization of downtown Albemarle. The organization is governed by a board of directors and coordinated with the City of Albemarle through the Main Street Manager and a part-time assistant.
The ADDC raises funds through donations, grants, and fundraising events such as the Stanly County Winter Wine Festival, Holiday Tour of Homes, and the Outdoorsman’s Bonanza. Moneys raised go to beautification projects, economic stimulus grants, and upkeep of ADDC-managed properties.
ADDC is a member of the North Carolina Main Street Program, which promotes the revitalization of NC downtowns and helps to preserve their history. Our organization could not function without the support of the downtown businesses and our many volunteers. It is because of their selfless efforts that we can continue our mission.
