Hosted by Stanly County Historical Society, Join the Courtyard & Garden Tour.

Proceeds from this rain or shine event will fund educational programs and preservation initiatives of the Stanly County Historical Society, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. This self-guided tour will allow access to 10 private and public courtyard and garden spaces stretching from Albemarle to Badin that will inspire gardeners of all levels. The tour features a variety of outdoor spaces including a Spanish influenced courtyard, an English cottage garden, Charleston inspired garden and a wildflower meadow & nature preserve.
Stone Mountain is a geological wonder located in eastern Stanly County on the fringes of the Uwharrie Mountains. When you enter this neighborhood, you are transported to a quiet, secluded landscape of hills and hollows. Homes in this neighborhood tend to meld into the scenery.
Site #9, the home of Daniel and Amy Brantley, is located at 26013 Mountain Ridge Road. Daniel & Amy are among the residents of the Stone Mountain subdivision that choose this neighborhood for the quiet and natural setting. You will be greeted by the well-manicured front lawn, but when you enter the backyard, you will be transported to the Brantley’s retreat.
Since 2014, they have created their sanctuary in the woods. Tour guests will admire the landscaped lawns, inground pool and the frequently used fire pit. Their favorite weekend hours are spent either on the deck or watching television from their poolside patio.
Advance $15 wristband tickets are available at the Stanly County History Center, 157 N. Second St in Downtown Albemarle. $20 wristband tickets may be purchased on the day of the tour at the 1852 Isaiah Snuggs House, 112 N. Third St in Downtown Albemarle from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm. All ticket sales are non-refundable donations. Direct inquiries to Stanlycountyhistory@gmail.com or call 704-986-3777.
The Courtyard & Garden Tour is made possible by our tour site hosts and the generous event sponsors Albemarle Family & Occupational Medicine, Hudson Pool Distributors, McAulayAllen Design, NJR Group, Catherine Kimrey Breeden and Mauney’s Farm, Home & Garden.
