The streets of Downtown Albemarle will come alive with the beat of the Part Time Party Time Band on Saturday, May 10, as Albemarle Downtown Development produces its 16th annual Beach Blast. Spend the afternoon enjoying the many activities and food vendors, then slip on your dancing shoes and feel the beat as DJ Joey Gathings kicks off the music at 5:00 pm, followed by the featured band, Part Time Party Time Band at 7:30. “This year, it is an honor to have such a well-known band that has been captivating audiences since 1980” said Michele Deeter, event co-chairman. As an icon in Southeastern entertainment, they have performed with such big names as The Four tops, The Tams, Delbert McClinton and The Beach Boys. Numerous accolades have followed the band as they have been the recipients of countless awards, including CBMA’s Best Group, Album of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, and Best Blues Song, to name a few.

Join your friends in Downtown Albemarle for this annual celebration of beach music. Food vendors begin serving at 2:00, children’s activities open at 4:00, and just in case the weather is not cooperative, the event will continue at Market Station on West Main Street.
